Heather Rae El Moussa, 36, bids farewell to “Selling Sunset” as she leaves the show after seven seasons. In an Instagram post coinciding with the Season 7 premiere, the TV personality and real estate agent announced her departure alongside co-star Bre Tiesi.

Heather expressed mixed emotions about her exit from the series, referring to it as a “bittersweet” moment. She shared her perspective, saying, “Everything happens how it’s meant to… And we all have a plan. It’s bittersweet to not be a part of SS anymore. But I do know that good or bad, I wouldn’t change the experiences I had. Let the drama begin, I’ll be no part of it. Thank you -> next.” In the photo accompanying her post, Heather sported a multi-patterned dress while cradling her baby bump. She had welcomed her son with Tarek El Moussa on January 31.

Following her confirmation of leaving the series, many of her 3.1 million followers offered well wishes in the comments. “You brought a lot of positivity to SS. Will [sic] miss you,” one fan expressed, while another added, “It won’t be the same without you!” Heather’s former co-star Chrishell Stause also shared her reaction in the comments, saying, “Please come back,” along with crying emojis. Some fans even appealed to Netflix to keep Heather on the show, with one writing, “What the heck??? @sellingsunsetnetflix, bring her back, my fav from day 1.”

This confirmation of Heather’s exit from the reality show comes almost eight months after she mentioned that she hadn’t been called back to film Season 7. In an interview with E! News on March 29, she stated, “I’ve been off maternity leave, and I’ve been excited to get back to work, and so far I have not been called back.” Heather pointed out that she had been with the show since the beginning, from the pilot, as one of the original cast members alongside Christine Quinn, Mary Fitzgerald, Maya Vander, Jason Oppenheim, and others.

Heather is not the first original cast member to depart from the series, as a couple of others have already pursued new opportunities. Christine famously left the show in 2022, and Jason’s brother Brett took a step back in 2020. For this season, premiering on November 3, fans can anticipate the return of familiar faces, including Mary, Chrishell, the famous Oppenheim brothers, Emma Hernan, Bre, Amanza Smith, and more, who will undoubtedly bring plenty of drama to Season 7.
