“Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’ Roars at the Box Office: Third Biggest Weekend Overseas, Surpasses 300Cr Worldwide”

In a triumphant display, Ranbir Kapoor’s film ‘Animal’ has secured the third position in the list of Bollywood’s biggest first weekends, surpassing ‘Padmaavat’ and trailing just behind ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan.’ The film’s worldwide box office collections reached an impressive Rs. 334 crore, with a significant portion of Rs. 230 crore contributed by the Indian market.

Internationally, ‘Animal’ grossed USD 12.50 million (Rs. 104 crore) in its opening weekend, claiming the top spot at the global box office, outperforming Hollywood films like ‘Napoleon’ and ‘Hunger Games.’

Australia and Canada emerged as standout markets for the film, witnessing record-breaking numbers over the Friday-Sunday weekend frame. In Australia, ‘Animal’ grossed AUD 1.95 million, surpassing ‘Jawan’s’ AUD 1.725 million. The film exhibited remarkable stability on Sunday, maintaining the momentum from Saturday, and is poised for a robust Monday. It is on track to become the highest-grossing Indian film in Australia, surpassing ‘Pathaan’s’ AUD 4.72 million.

Similarly, in Canada, ‘Animal’ grossed CAD 2.21 million during the weekend (CAD 2.43 million including previews), surpassing the previous record held by ‘Pathaan’ at CAD 2.08 million. Overall, North America contributed USD 6.53 million to the film’s global box office, marking the third-best debut, following ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan.’

While the Gulf and the UK markets did not reach the levels of ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan,’ this is a common occurrence as films not featuring Khan generally underperform in these regions.

The territorial breakdown for ‘Animal’s’ overseas box office is as follows:

– North America: USD 6,525,000

– Middle East: USD 2,300,000 Approx

– Australia: USD 1,300,000

– New Zealand: USD 235,000

– Rest of Asia: USD 625,000

– United Kingdom: USD 850,000

– Europe: USD 500,000

– Rest of World: USD 175,000

In total, ‘Animal’ amassed USD 12,500,000 (Rs. 104 crores), solidifying its status as a blockbuster hit both domestically and internationally.
