Despite the positive response to Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s “Animal,” the director acknowledges room for improvement and reveals plans for an enhanced OTT version. In a conversation with film trade analyst Komal Nahta, Vanga discussed the tweaks he intends to make for the Netflix release.

Vanga expressed initial disappointment upon viewing the theatrical version, citing issues with the song, makeup, costume, and sound. He attributed some of these challenges to the film’s multilingual release. In response, he is diligently editing the OTT version to address these concerns and enhance the viewer experience.

Detailing the editing process, Vanga mentioned the inclusion of different shots and a few additional scenes from the same take. Acknowledging a regrettable decision to trim the runtime, he plans to reintegrate those minutes, aiming for a more comprehensive and engaging viewing experience.

Additionally, Vanga disclosed that he had initially considered casting Parineeti Chopra as Geetanjali in “Animal” but encountered reservations about the fit. Reflecting on his casting decisions, he admitted that certain characters might not align with specific actors, emphasizing his reliance on instinct over auditions. Vanga shared an anecdote about wanting to cast Parineeti as Preeti in “Kabir Singh” and expressed gratitude for her understanding when he opted for a different approach in casting.

In the dynamic realm of filmmaking, Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s commitment to refining his work reflects a dedication to delivering an optimal cinematic experience for audiences, especially as he navigates the transition to OTT platforms.
